Thank you for tuning in for another episode of Life’s Best Medicine. Siobhan Huggins is a researcher who works with Dave Feldman in the study of cholesterol & lipoproteins. She went keto in August of 2016, lost 80 pounds, and completely turned her health around. Now she spends her time deep diving into the inner workings of the lipid system, and searching for the mechanisms of the modern diseases that surround us.

Brian and Siobhan discuss how Siobhan discovered the keto diet, Siobhan’s battle with anxiety and depression and the advantage that the keto diet gave her in that battle.

They also talk about lipedema and its symptoms, and the upcoming “Keto Revolution for Lipedema and Lymphedema Virtual Symposium” to be held April 29-May 1, 2022.

Other topics of the interview include the effect of high fat vs high carb diets on the microbiome, why the Western diet is a metabolic disaster, the genius of the human body for survival and balance, the importance of considering the bio-individuality of each person seeking to regain health on the keto diet, the effect that mindset can have on success and health, and the frustration at the root of doctor burn out.

Life’s Best Medicine according to Siobhan: “I really want to understand things—to really drill down and see all the inter-workings. Also, helping people understand things. Also, my community, my friends, my family, and my cat.”

Thank you for listening. Have a blessed day and stay healthy!
