by | Aug 11, 2021 | Podcast | 0 comments

Thank you for tuning in for another episode of Life’s Best Medicine. Dr. Elie Jarrouge is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology. He did his internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. Originally from Lebanon, Dr. Elie immigrated to the United States when he was in high school.

Brian and Elie discuss the experience of immigrating to the United States, the connection between processed foods and inflammation in the body, and how obesity and diabetes are serious risk factors for COVID-19. They also talk about the unpredictability of life and how this reality ought to cause us to seek to foster peace and love with our family and friends, dealing with grief and loss, and emotional and spiritual deterioration due to the pandemic.

Life’s Best Medicine According to Elie: “Kindness. Be kind and help others. When you start helping others, you find joy. We will die one day, so let that reality determine how you spend your days and what you worry about.”

Thank you for listening. Have a blessed day and stay healthy!
