Episode 4: Talking About Faith with Dr. Steven Bishop

by | Nov 11, 2020 | Podcast | 0 comments

Thank you for tuning in for another episode of Life’s Best Medicine. Joining Brian Lenzkes for this episode is Dr. Steven Bishop—an Internal Medicine Doctor practicing in Virginia. Dr. Bishop graduated from UVA School of Medicine and did his residency at VCU. He now serves as PartnerMD’s Director of Wellness,

Steven and Brian talk about what it is like to be a Christian in the medical field, what it is like to be a doctor and/or a scientist in a Christian community, the effects of pornography on the brain, one’s family, and one’s relationships, and what it means to share one’s faith with others in secular fields. Further, Brian and Steven discuss the terrifying mental health effects of a society that is socially distanced and in lockdown, and the importance of traditional family structures for a stable, healthy society.

In addition to discussing some of the basic tenets of the Christian faith, the two docs talk about the meaning of faith and why they think that a person can be scientifically minded while believing in God at the same time.

Do you agree with these two docs? Do you disagree? We are grateful that you are with us either way! More than anything, we want to help spread hope and to foster better understanding and love among people of different faiths and political perspectives through honest discussion. By recognizing the common respect we owe each other as human beings, we know that it is possible to disagree and be unified as friends at the same time. Have a great day.
