She is the oldest of four children and was given lots of responsibility as a child to help take care of her siblings. She found herself turning to sugar and junk food to help cope with the stress she experienced from an early age. It was not until she discovered the low-carb diet that she found a real solution to her chronic issues.
Karen talks with Brian about her history of medicating stress with food, and how she discovered the low-carb diet. She also explains how she learned to never binge again, and discusses the books Never Binge Again and I Love My Notebook by Dr. Glenn Livingston. Karen tells why she wants to lose weight and why having that reason has made a huge difference in her personal success in achieving her goals, as well as the importance of setting realistic goals that take your current physical state into account, fasting protocols, the value of exercise, and low-carb recipes and cooking.
